And internally, a signal that no company claiming to “lead with values” can ignore: security researcher Mrinank Sharma resigned, stating that “the world is in danger” and describing how difficult it is to let values govern actions under pressure.

Fourth, politics amplifies any inconsistency. Donations, regulatory disputes, and government contracts turn the company into a symbol. That status demands governance that functions even when public opinion reduces debate to factions.

Anthropic is facing the test that defines companies aiming to lead with constraints: demonstrating that its promise was not an early phase of the narrative, but an industrializable discipline. Sustainable corporate success is achieved when the C-Level builds a system that is resilient, horizontal, and autonomous so that the organization can scale into the future without ever relying on the ego or indispensable presence of its creator.
